If you put MCL into the search bar you will find a range of lessons that have been written with the models of contemporary learning.
Choose one and take a look.
For an example I will have a look at the MCL for rainforests.
By clicking on the link you will get a page that looks like this:
Each of the boxes contains information for each section which you can access by clicking on them.
I began by clicking on the link that says 'Knowledge Skills and Understanding'. Here you will find examples and pictures of the different activities the teacher who wrote the series of lessons did. Great for building ideas for things to do in your own room. The photos are fantastic.
In each section there are photos and even videos of the work the students have done. There are ideas for excursions and incursions and links to other useful websites you can use when teaching.
There is a section on how to use the learning spaces and the different learning tools and assessment.
If you are starting to plan a lesson, checking out an MCL is a great way to start.
Depending on your Scootle access you may get pages of different MCL's appear - or you may only get a few.
When I log into Scootle via the front page I get about 8 different ones appear, however if I log in through the Catholic Schools website I get three pages worth of Scootles appear. I do not know what happens if you log in with a DEC log-in as I haven't tried that.
Either way, these teaching methods (with a little imagination and creativity) can be applied to any topic.
Hope that these MCLs inspire your planning as you get ready for the new term.
Have a great holiday everyone!
